CHARLOTTE, NC – April 19, 2018 – The Keith Corporation (“TKC”), a privately held real estate development firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, announced the lease of their second building located in Charleston Trade Center, in Summerville, South Carolina.
The 307,353-square foot, cross docked, spec building is the new location of RPM Warehouse (“RPM”). RPM is a public warehousing and transportation company who handles items such as green coffee beans, tea, liquor, non-perishable groceries, paper goods, and lumber.
Alan Lewis, Industrial Development Partner with The Keith Corporation commented, “We’ve been very pleased with the performance of the Charleston Trade Center. The lease of our spec building to RPM came immediately on the heels of the completion of our 234,000 sf build-to-suit for IFA Rotorion in the park. Now the Nexton Parkway interchange adjacent to Charleston Trade Center is open, greatly enhancing the access going forward.”
For this project in Charleston Trade Center, TKC partnered with Choate Construction as the general contractor, Merriman Schmitt Architects for design, Alliance Consulting Engineers for civil engineering, and Jones Lang LaSalle (“JLL”) for leasing. Lee Allen of JLL represented The Keith Corporation and Simons Johnson of Bridge represented RPM in the transaction.
Currently, four sites remain within in Charleston Trade Center for build-to-suit opportunities. These sites can accommodate building sizes ranging from 100,000 square feet to 1,010,880 square feet. Located only 26 miles from the Charleston, South Carolina ports, the park boasts immediate access to Interstate 26 via the newly opened Nexton Parkway (Exit 197), secondary access to I-26 at Jedburg Road interchange, and exceptional visibility from the interstate.
