ROCK HILL, SC — The Keith Corporation (TKC) is excited to announce that Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii will join The Thread, bringing bold flavor and island-inspired hospitality to South Carolina’s largest adaptive-reuse project.

This new franchise will occupy approximately 2,581 square feet and is slated to open in March 2026.

“The Thread was our first choice from the beginning—it’s who we wanted to take to the dance,” said Doug Epperly. “We’ve lived in Rock Hill for years and love this community. When we found Bad Ass Coffee and learned more about the brand’s energy and values, we knew it belonged here.”

The Epperlys, longtime Rock Hill residents, were drawn to The Thread’s vision of fostering connection and creativity. Abby, a University of Louisville graduate, discovered the Bad Ass Coffee brand while in school and immediately connected with its fun, down-to-earth culture and “ohana” (family) spirit.

“We’re not just opening a coffee shop—we’re creating a destination,” added Abby Epperly. “From day one, we saw The Thread as the perfect setting to bring people together through coffee, culture, and connection.”

The new coffee shop will feature an “Instagram-worthy” atmosphere, and a menu of Hawaiian-blended coffees, espresso drinks, teas, and grab-and-go retail items like whole bean and ground coffee. Guests can also enjoy the brand’s signature “Rescube” program, featuring frozen coffee cubes that keep iced beverages strong and flavorful.
