LILLINGTON, NC —The Keith Corporation and Choate Construction are proud to announce Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center in Harnett County has been awarded the Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Carolinas Chapter.
This project brings the county’s first advanced cancer treatment center to the community. This major milestone in cancer care significantly reduces patient travel time and stress of commuting over an hour for treatment. The new facility provides care with an emphasis on both
healing and comfort, close to home.
Inside, the 66,000-SF, Class A advanced medical facility houses oncology, radiology, and other specialized care. Meeting a critical need, a highly specialized radiation machine, a linear accelerator (LINAC), is installed inside a fully shielded room. Throughout construction, entering this room one could feel the heaviness and emotion that comes with this treatment. Before drywall installation, the hospital campus pastor inscribed uplifting scripture onto the framing, imbuing the
space with messages of hope.
It was an honor to work alongside Cape Fear Valley Health, LS3P, and skilled trade partners to bring this facility to the community of Lillington and meet Cape Fear Valley’s mission to bring high-quality, accessible care close to home.
