KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC — The Keith Corporation (TKC) is proud to announce that its King’s Mountain Corporate Center has been selected by Walmart as the site of its newest e-commerce fulfillment center.

Completed in 2023, the 1.25 million–square-foot facility stands among the largest speculative industrial buildings on the East Coast and exemplifies TKC’s forward-thinking approach to strategic development platforms. The project highlights TKC’s long-term vision to deliver high-quality, flexible industrial space that fuels both corporate expansion and community growth across the Carolinas.

Alan Lewis, TKC’s Managing Partner of Industrial Development stated, “This project was the culmination of over 15 years of partnership with the Matthews family on this site. Ultimately, we decided that developing the site speculatively as a single, large facility adaptable to either manufacturing or distribution was the best way to achieve our objectives.”

Strategically positioned on Canterbury Road with immediate access to Interstate 85 and U.S. 74, the King’s Mountain Corporate Center was designed with 40’ clear ceiling height, cross-dock loading configuration, abundant truck trailer storage and staging, and state-of-the-art fire protection — qualities that made it the perfect fit for Walmart’s expanding fulfillment network. The facility will enable next-day delivery of large items like patio furniture and lawnmowers while driving significant job creation and investment in Gaston County.

The success of this project was made possible through collaboration with an exceptional team of partners, including Matthews Management, Inc., the City of Kings Mountain, Gaston County, the Gaston County EDC, Wells Fargo, Choate Construction, Merriman Schmitt Architects, and Plott Hound Engineering. Their expertise and partnership were instrumental in bringing the facility to life efficiently and with the highest standard of quality.
